TMS Is...
A non-drug, non-invasive brain stimulation therapy:
-
TMS uses focused magnetic pulses, similar in strength to an MRI, to stimulate specific areas of the brain involved in mood regulation — without surgery, anesthesia, or systemic medication effects.
FDA-cleared treatment for depression and related conditions:
-
It’s approved for Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), and variations like anxious depression and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), particularly when other treatments (e.g., medications) have not provided adequate relief.
Targets the brain where depression starts:
-
Magnetic pulses help “reignite” or “wake up” underactive neural connections in mood-regulating regions of the brain, potentially improving neurotransmitter activity and symptom relief.
Outpatient and patient-friendly:
-
Sessions are short (often about 19–30 minutes), performed in a clinic while the patient is awake and alert, and there’s no recovery time. Patients can resume normal daily activities afterward.
Not the same as electroconvulsive therapy (ECT):
-
Unlike ECT, TMS doesn’t induce seizures, doesn’t require anesthesia, and focuses magnetic stimulation externally on the brain, offering a gentler and more targeted approach.

Before TMS, I was angry and irritable most of the time.
After treatment, I feel more easy going and balanced. I’ve even returned to drawing — something I had lost interest in before.
TMS has been life-altering.

Before TMS, I felt severely depressed and hopeless.
After treatment, my symptoms improved and I was able to accomplish daily tasks again.
The change made a difference.

Before TMS, I felt extremely low and hopeless.
After treatment, I feel lighter and it’s easier to start my day.
It has helped more than most medications ever did for me.
